The Formal Party

A Formal Party usually requires you to wear a black dress, but I am sure, that, in that swarm of LBDs, you want to stand out and be the focus of the party, and for this, you can either add a statement piece to your outfit, or keep it elegant and simple. It is not necessary that you have to wear that usual plain black dress, and then add a statement piece. Your dress can be a statement in itself, along with either a bold pair of shoes or a popping handbag.

The dress I have worn today, has a very unusual cut, it is high in the front, lower in the back, but, it is also a bit long on the sides. The big printed flowers start like a triangle at the back, which makes the dress even more unique. I didn't go OTT with the footwear, and wore my newfound black and white shoes, which are simple and will go with most things in my closet. Also, for the accessories, I have only kept it to a simple rose gold - gold necklace.

The showstopper piece in the whole outfit is my bag, which, after all the blacks and whites, makes the whole outfit go from "elegant" to "elegant and bold". The most amazing thing about this bag, is that it can take a basic outfit up a notch and bring life to your grey days with all those colours there.

Coming to the makeup, being a beginner at it, I could not afford to make mistakes which would ruin the poise of the outfit, so I kept it all light and only used a metallic peach coloured eyeshadow stick on my eyes, and kept my lips nude. Also, I love using highlighter, and I don't really hold back on it, because it just brings out that glow in my face, which I am absolutely in love with!
